Administrative Staff
Kim Kelly, RN, BSN, LNC - CEO & Principal Consultant
Kim is the founder of Compliance Review Services, Inc. and began the company in 1997. She graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1986. She has 20+ years of experience in the healthcare field, ranging from Administrator, to Director of Nurses, to home health agency owner. She has worked in multiple medical environments, taught at a vocational college, and developed and taught numerous educational offerings. Kim is a member of the Home Health Alliance Team, Texas Association for Health Care, and DADS external stakeholder group for rule review. She is a Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services Consultant-Monitor and currently sat on the Texas Outcome Based Quality Management coalition team. Ms. Kelly recently became an independent contractor for DADS conducting long term care quality reviews. Ms. Kelly became a Legal Nurse Consultant in 1999. She has been a consulting nurse expert and testifying nurse expert witness in both plaintiff and defense cases. In addition, Kim was inducted into the Business Who's Who in March of 2004 for her accomplishments as a small business owner. In addition, she is an honorary chairperson for small businesses through NRCC and is an external workshop member for DADS for the State of Texas.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family. An accomplished pianist, she also likes swimming, reading, bowling, and watching movies. Kim is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and resided in Florida for several years. She has lived in Texas since 1995.
Janice M. Johnson-Umezulike, RN, BSN, MN, CNS, DNS - Educational Consultant
Dr. Johnson-Umezulike received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1984. She received both her Masters in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Science from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1989 and 1997, respectively. Since 1990, she has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing and many other professional organizations. She also serves on the Board of many professional organizations and has published a variety of nursing articles. Janice is currently a professor and continuing education instructor at Lee College in Baytown, Texas Her specialty areas are in Medical/Surgical Nursing, Education, Orthopedics, Pain and Pain Perception, Curriculum and Teaching, and Test Taking Consultation.
Since joining Compliance Review Services, Janice has submitted many educational activities to the Texas Nurses Association in which all activities were approved by the TNA. Her main role in the company is to write educational activities so that all activities can be approved by the Texas Nurses Association. Jayne Jessop - Referral Coordinator
Jayne Jessop joined the Compliance Review Services, Inc. Administrative Team in July 2006. Ms. Jessop has over 15 years of sales and diversified administrative experience, and has wasted no time becoming an integral part of the Compliance Review Services, Inc. family. Ms. Jessop comes to us via England, and has put her experience both here and abroad to work in helping Compliance Review Services, Inc. acquire new business as well as give our existing clients, managers, and consultants the highest level of service and support.
Dawn Rocha - Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Rocha has worked in business management, property management, and marketing for the past 25 years.
She brings with her Operation Manager of the Year, Highest Revenue Awards, and Exceeding business goals for previous positions she has held on a corporate level. She is joining the Compliance Review Services, Inc. team as an administrative assistant and will also be working for The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. once the school has all of its licenses and certifications for all programs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends and is a movie buff!
Sury Hacker - Administrative Assistant
Sury Hacker is a full time student from Lone Star College, and is currently working on the prerequisites to get into the Nursing program. She plans to get her Associates Degree in nursing first, so she can quickly follow her dream of going to school to obtain her bachelors degree and become a Register Nurse. When she graduates as a RN, she wants to specialize in Pediatrics because she enjoys working with children and knows she will play a key part in helping families come through their crisis. Sury enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is originally from Mexico and has been living in the States since 2009.
Clinical Consultants
Joyce May, RN, BSN, Nurse Consultant
Joyce began her nursing career in 1972 at the first NICU in the Dallas area. After helping to open the unit and serving as Assistant Head Nurse, Joyce moved to Big Spring, Texas, in 1974 and was Charge Nurse PACU/Staff Nurse OR in a hospital. From 1976 to 1984, Joyce wore multiple hats at an Andrews, Texas, hospital, and served as Charge Nurse/Assistant Director OR/PACU, Staff Nurse OR/PACU, and Director of Material Management Department. She developed the procedure manual for the department, was the quality assurance representative for OR/PACU, and was active on the Safety and Infection Control committee. After two other hospital staff nurse positions, Joyce became a Nursing Specialist for the Texas Department of Health/Department of State Health Services. From 1990 to 2004, she conducted initial and recertification surveys, evaluated healthcare agencies for compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and State License Rules, and provided educational and consultative assistance to all provider types. In 2005, Joyce joined the Compliance Review Services, Inc., team.
Joyce obtained her Associate in Applied Science from El Central College in Dallas, Texas, in 1972 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, in 1989. She received nine months of training in the Texas Department of Health Continuous Quality Improvement process in 2001 and her CLEAR Certification for Complaint Investigation in 2003.
Denise Garcia, RN Consultant
Denise Garcia, RN earned her BS in Nursing from Mercy College of Detroit, in Michigan and continued with an MS in Health Services Administration from St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. Denise has 20 years of experience ranging from Director of Operations for a multimillion dollar non-profit home health agency, to Administrator of two home health care operations, and /luding positions as Patient Care Administrator, Director of Clinical Services and Director of Nursing in the area of Hospice. We are proud to have Denise bring her expertise to our nurse consultant staff as of August 1, 2007.
Paula L. Frate RN, HNC - Home Health Consultant
Paula began her nursing career in 1978 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing from a small college in northern Ohio. She relocated to Houston, Texas in 1981 and comes to Compliance Review Services with a broad background in both business and healthcare.
Her clinical experience spans the continuum of healthcare /luding intensive care, emergency room, rehabilitation, home health and hospice. In 2000 she became certified as a holistic nurse to better address the needs of dying patients and their families.
Paula's business experience began in 1984 as a consultant to insurance companies and large corporations implementing case management and health promotion programs. Over the past ten years she has worked with a large county hospital system to improve charge capture and revenue management for medical research and as an Education and Performance Improvement Coordinator with a large home health and hospice agency. She is an experienced home health and hospice software trainer and is currently pursuing certification as a business coach.
Constance Almendarez RN
Constance Almendarez RN completed her undergraduate courses at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. She then attended St. Lawrence College in Kinston, Ontario, Canada where she received her diploma in Nursing and graduated with distinction. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Galveston, Texas where she worked as a staff nurse, charge nurse and preceptor in the surgical step down unit. Connie transitioned to Home Health in 1994 and has over 17 years experience. Her Home Health experience began as a Case Manager, then to Director of Provider services and has served the last 8 years as an Agency Administrator. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and enjoys a challenge!

Lindsey Gregory Tyner
Lindsey Gregory Tyner is originally from Sugar Land, TX. She moved to Austin to attend and graduate from the University of Texas with a degree in
Radio-Television-Film. Lindsey has worked as a web developer, graphic designer and user interface engineer for almost a decade.
She has worked in an array of industries including healthcare, hospitality, and software industries.
In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys the live music scene in Austin and travelling.
